Nir Zvi

Moshav (Agricultural Union) on the border between the Sharon region and the southern coastal plain, approximately 2 km northwest of Ramle. It was named after the railroad magnate, Baron Morris Hirsch (Tzvi) - (1831 - 1896) - who founded the Yaka Corporation and established the Jewish agricultural colonies in Argentina. The moshav was founded in 1954, by immigrants from Argentina, on part of the land of the abandoned Arab village Serafand El-Amar, and was originally called Kfar Argentina. An active industrial zone is located nearby. Estates range between 8 - 10 dunams in Parcel A and approximately 200 dunams in Parcel B and auxiliary farms range between 1.5 - 4 dunams.
